The smallest dairy in Britain. Six cows. One farm in Woodchurch, Kent. Kept for life, family-bonded, Happy Herd certified — and reserved for our founding members.
Three hundred founding places. First bottles, a name on our wall, and a say in what we call our first six cows.
A finer kind
Milk follows the life of the cow. Ours live differently — and you can taste it.
Six cows. Each named, each known. Milk from individuals — not numbers, not quotas, not bulk.
No separations. No slaughter cycles. The calmer the cow, the finer the milk — lower cortisol, richer fat, smoother flavour.
“Cows with names produce more milk than cows without.”
Single-origin, single-farm. Bottled in glass within hours of milking and brought to you the same week. No bulk tanks. No blended supply.
Jersey and Swiss Brown cows give milk that’s naturally A2-only — easier on the gut, richer in cream, fuller in taste. Quietly the finest in Britain.
Dairy, evolved.
A rather special
herd.
Britain’s first forever herd.
Our five promises
Built around the cow, not the quota. A herd that grows together, stays together, and is cared for from first breath to last.
Every cow stays with us for her whole life — sixteen, eighteen years. She gets a name. She stays.
Calves are raised by their mothers as the herd grows together — family bonds kept intact, the way nature does it.
Bull calves and heifers alike grow up in the herd, with the same lifetime promise. The whole herd, together.
When she stops giving milk, our care fund keeps her fed, warm and looked after — for the rest of her days.
The care fund sits in its own asset-locked entity, so the promise outlasts us — and anyone who comes after us.
A note on the end of life. On the rare occasion a cow is suffering with no path back to comfort, we accept compassionate veterinary release as the kindest end. Lifetime care, never slaughter — but never suffering either.
The Ledger
Every cow, every promise, every founding member — counted, kept, never forgotten.
Sustainable, by design
Forever needs a plan. Here’s how the smallest dairy in Britain keeps itself going — and growing.
We begin with cows others might end. A2 milkers — Jersey, Swiss Brown, Guernsey — bought from herds where their working life would have been cut short. With us, they begin a longer one.
We use sexed insemination so almost every calf born to our herd is female. Heifers grow up alongside their mothers, and the herd grows from within — quietly, slowly, generation by generation.
The few males who arrive aren’t sold or slaughtered. They become oxen and stay with the herd — the way British dairies worked before the modern industry took over.
Our farm certification
Happier herds, better milk.
Every drop of Kind Milk comes from a Happy Herd farm. We award the badge to partner farms that commit to our five promises — and as we grow, more herds get certified, more cows live their full lives, more calves stay with the herd they were born into.
